ARTIST53

ARTIST53 is a walking pressure system. Built in ink, raised in Southern heat, and fueled by cartoons, comics, gaming and hip hop.

I’m Justin Anderson, the artist behind ARTIST53. It started as a way to give each side of my work its own space: graphic design, fine art and illustration. Three different focuses, all coming from the same imagination.

My introduction to art began in Columbia, South Carolina, watching my father draw. That was all it took. Growing up in the 80s, I soaked up cartoons, toys, comics and action movies. Before long, I was drawing in class when I should have been listening.

Since 2004, I’ve spent 22 years turning ideas into logos, illustrations, books, social media content and marketing materials. I’ve worked with children’s book authors, dentists, lawyers, doctors, nonprofit groups, small businesses and homeowners. Each project brings a different problem to solve and a different story to tell.

I’m passionate about making work that has personality and a purpose. It’s something a business can build on, an author can share, or something someone wants hanging on their wall. I work with my clients to figure out what makes sense and make the most of it.

I live to draw and draw to live. ART NEVER SLEEPS.
